Rani, Principal, mentioned that China adopted sporadic sensitization program in
school colleges, offices and community; thereafter most of the drugs was
controlled and now China is one of the super-powers in the world. She suggested
that India should sincerely sensitize its population on tobacco, the way
ICanWin Foundation is doing so that India moves towards being a developed
country.
Volunteers discussed about the ill effects of tobacco
on the youth, their family members and members in the society, overall health
and financial burden in India and explained the relevance of SAVE the Youth –

comic booklet on tobacco awareness authored by Dr Pawan Gupta, MS MCH (National
President of ICanWin Foundation and Sr Cancer Surgeon) was distributed among
the 206 students and teachers;
a quiz competition was conducted at the end to
which students answered as per their understanding. A Tobacco Control Committee consisting of 4 teachers was formed in the
school to keep an eye on different tobacco related activities and its violation
under COTPA 2003.
Students and teachers pledged “NOT TO TAKE TOBACCO IN ANY FORM THROUGHOUT LIFE”.
